Cole Porter Medley Sometimes, we pianists just noddle around without any direction. So it was with me when in an unguarded and unprepared moment, I found myself toying with some themes from a few well-known songs by Cole Porter.

Carolina Shout Here I am performing James P. Johnson's 1918 stride classic, "Carolina Shout." Johnson made many recordings of this wonderful piece throughout his career. The first recording was a piano roll made for the Artempo Company in 1918 (Artempo 12975 / February 1918). I am playing the second version, based on Johnson's 1921 QRS player piano roll (QRS 100999). This performance was recorded live
